Meet The Conductor
Dr. Kurt Sprenger
This is Dr. Kurt Sprenger’s 10th year as music director of the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra. In conjunction with the FWCO’s move to the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. Sprenger has been named artist in residence at the Seminary. He currently serves as principal violin for the Dallas Chamber Orchestra, the Brazos Chamber Orchestra and is active as a studio violinist in the Metroplex. Overseas he has served as artist in residence at the National Conservatory of Italy, conducting opera throughout the country. In addition, he has conducted and recorded with the Warsaw National Philharmonic in Poland. Dr. Sprenger has held faculty positions at many major universities in Texas, Wisconsin, and California and continues to be active as an educator working with All-Region and All-State orchestras throughout the country. A native of Hawaii, Dr. Sprenger received his Doctorate of Music at the University of Southern California. He and his wife, pianist Jill Sprenger, live in Fort Worth with their three children.

During our 30 years of existence in Fort Worth we have provided our listeners with a broad array of musical styles.
